"Hacky Moon" (originally Hacky Schmidt), for years he made music through the musical landscape between punk rock and indie rock. In 1981 he founded the legendary band "Schweiger Hinten" with Peter Galliers (electric guitar). In its original line-up the band consisted of: Hacky Moon - frontman & guitar, Peter Galliers - electric guitar, Andrea Schmidt - vocals & conga, Gisela Enslein - vocals & piano, Gunter Kraft - bass, Micha Wallerer- drums. Schweiger Hinten recorded four studio albums. First "Hier und Jetzt" (1984) and "Eiskalt" (1986).
Lyrics' quote:
"There is no yesterday and there is no tomorrow, there is no future and there are no worries, everything you do and feel, you experience here and now"
(translated from the song "Kaputte Welt")
Shortly after the release of the second album 1986, Peter, Andrea and Micha left the band - Hacky got replacements: for a short time Gerhard Heimrat played guitar, then Schwarzmann (guitar) and Richard Lacustiano (drums) joined to play the live gigs.
In 1987 Peter came back, in the same year the live album "Schweiger live 87" was released. In 1988 the album "Weißer Riese", long awaited by the fans, came out. The recordings were produced in different studios. Schweiger Hinten were in great demand in the punk scene, many of those who had experienced the band would love to see them live again.
In 1989 at the Endzeit Festival, Hacky was back on the boards with his new band Manitou Springs. Still with them from Schweiger Hinten was Gisela - piano, vocals.
They were joined by: Gaga Galsterer - guitar, Jackie Rihacek - bass, Bernd Baumann - drums. The band played itself right back into the first ranks.
On December 15, 1989 an article about Manitou Springs appeared in the Abendzeitung with the headline "Stars of the Year".
Instead of the unbreakable, incorruptible punk, the band now struck more fragile, darker tones, which had something of a mixture of Nick Cave in his younger years and internalized Indian mysticism. Thus a new eccentric style was coined, which drew its energies far more from intentional introversion than Schweiger Hinten.
Unfortunately, the band broke up in 1991 because of personal disagreements (we were sooo young!).
Hacky Moon didn't bury his head in the sand, he took his guitar, wrote his heart out and started his solo career. With his truck camper he drove around the world, played his concerts in small clubs and pubs, wrote two more albums. One of them was written in the truck: "Only love counts".

I now turn to my fans.
Music is a wonderful way to express yourself. There is nothing more beautiful than seeing how music brings people together and awakens emotions.
Music gives us the power to open our hearts.
I've been on stage for 40 years, and I've always enjoyed writing songs and being with you. I'll be writing songs all my life, whether I'm a punk, a waver, or a songwriter. In the last two years I was a lot on the road with the motorcycle. In my luggage: A-guitar, blues harp, mini -recording studio, some micros and a pair of jeans. Laugh ... to write new songs. Hacky Moon is inspired by the rock'n'roll of the Rolling Stones, the punk rock of the Sex Pistols and the music of Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Patti Smith, whose sound he grew up with. Back in the own home "road studio", the songs are arranged, the lyrics and sounds are adjusted. The songs are about finding yourself, about suffering, joy, interpersonal conflicts, about death and life, about freedom and adventure and love - about everything that moved and inspired me on my trip: the human being and the music in us is important.
See you in the clubs, it will be cool, and take care ...
